About Carys

Carys’ early cycling years were spent on a tag-along touring round Wales, which evolved into cycle camping holidays touring in Europe. A school triathlon camp introduced the idea of bike racing to Carys. A growing passion led to more circuit races and eventually a go on the track at Manchester.

Taking the green jersey in Carys’ first Isle of Man Youth Tour led to multiple road and track podiums and jerseys in national events including 2 bronze medals at the National Youth Track championships. Carys is the current Welsh national criterium champion.  A crash prematurely ended Carys’ 2022 season but early season wins at Lee Valley and Newport promise a full recovery. Carys is currently on Welsh Cycling’s Youth Racing Academy and British Cycling’s National School of Racing.

“I am really looking forward to improving from where I ended my 2022 season – beating my really fast individual track pursuit times. I am excited about racing with and supporting my team mates at the two 3 day youth stage races.”
